I wanted to share some beautiful photos of the Berlin Wall exhibit I visited while in Berlin. About 1km of the wall was preserved after it fell and artists from all of the world were invited to come and contribute. There were some very moving murals and I really enjoyed looking at all of the art!
I’ve missed blogging, but I must say I’ve been having such a nice time in Croatia. This island is so beautiful and its going to be hard to leave! Though I must say… I am so excited to see my family, my boyfriend, my friends and my weenie dogs in 12 days! I’m trying to enjoy these last days because I know I will miss it when I get home.
Anyways, enough of the philosophical stuff…I thought I’d share some more photos with you guys 🙂
This lovely port is on the island of Brac, we parked here on a boat that we took for a day trip to the island. Lovely!
Such clear water, I can’t get over it!
Mojitos with Sue!
Delicious Martinis (do I have too many photos of alcohol?)
Bingo! This was our boats mascot. Super cute 🙂
Sunset at our villa
Not a nudist beach?? Yes, I was disappointed 😉
I’m writing this post from a beach chair on the edge of the water in Croatia. My friend Sue and I are staying on an island called Hvar in a little bay that is quite literally almost deserted. The villa where we are staying currently has one other couple, and there is a house across the water that doubles as a restaurant but has nothing but seafood on the menu because they catch it fresh everyday. No complaints from me, I love seafood. The weather has been indescribable, sunny not a cloud in the sky, and the water is so clear, I can see my the ocean floor without any trouble even when I’m swimming. We haven’t left to go exploring yet because we have everything we need here. However, we found out today that there is a beach one bay over with more people and a few bars and restaurants. If we can muster the energy to leave this gorgeous beach, we may go check it out.
We have 10 days total here so I’m crossing my fingers that I may be able to get a little tan! We’ll see… Here are some photos, hope you enjoy!
Hello from Berlin!
We spent the whole day exploring different neighborhoods of Berlin. The city has so much history I can’t keep track but it truly is fascinating. We’ve lucked out on the weather so far and this evening was quite warm with a slight breeze. Tomorrow we are heading to MuseumInsel which means museum island in German. We tried this authentic German restaurant that exceptional so naturally, I took photos to share with you!
The restaurant was called Kurhaus Korsakow and is situated in the neighborhood of Boxhagener Platz (and I thought French was difficult to pronounce). I loved the ivy on the outside of the building and the ambiance inside was relaxed and comfortable.
The first course was a delicious thick potato soup that I think is quite popular in Germany. It’s one was super rich and creamy with pesto mixed in to it. It went quite nicely with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
The second course was absolutely heavenly. It was a cheese spaetzel (a sort of German pasta) with this delicious creamy sauce mixed with peppers. There was also a salad on the side with cucumbers, radishes and some other seasonal greens. Somehow the dish managed not to be too heavy even though it was deliciously creamy and cheesy.
Lastly, I really wanted dessert (when do I not?) but my friends were both too full so I resisted temptation. Tomorrow I’m scoping out the best looking dessert I can find! Can’t wait for more adventures tomorrow.
Hope you are having a nice start to the week!
Forgive me my fellow bloggers! I’ve been too busy stuffing my face with baguettes and coffee that I’ve been slacking on my posts. I sincerely apologize 🙂 I decided to do a triple photo post for my may photo a day challenge (yes I think we can all agree that I failed at the main part of challenge which is a photo EACH day but I am perservering anyways) I’ve been in Paris for the last few days and I’ve been reminded why I love this city so much. Tomorrow my friend Tara heads back to the U.S. and I go back to Nantes to move out of my dorm. Then it’s off to Germany and Croatia. Eek!
The three photo themes for the last three days were Want, Favorite View and Light. It’s like this challenge knew I’d be in London and Paris 😉 Enjoy!
I know this photo is terribly unattractive but I had to post it because it represents my want so well! I want to go to Hogwarts. I want to hop on the Hogwarts express and ride in a thestral pulled carriage up to the sorting ceremony. Yes, I love Harry Potter 🙂
My Favorite View:
I took this photo today when I was up today at the top of the Eiffel Tower. This city never ceases to amaze me with it’s beauty, history and character!
This is the London Eye a massive Ferris wheel in London with an amazing view… Or so I’ve been told, much to Tara’s dismay I have a fear of Ferris wheels so I didn’t want to ride it. But, I did enjoy it from the ground and I loved the lighting of the sky at dusk, we were there at just the right moment to see the Eye, Big Ben and the London Bridge all at sunset.
My goal is to post my next three photos on their correct days. Lets see if I can do it!
