Chaussure Boite Subscription Review & Coupon Code! July 2013

Hey Everyone!

Can you believe it’s already August? As you have probably noticed, box month is not over yet! I decided to not cram all of the box reviews into July because I wanted to give each company my full time and attention and do a thorough review for you guys. Alas, box month shall be continuing until mid-August so keep reading!

Today’s review is for a company called Chaussure Boite, (french for shoe box, I like this box already!) who sends all sorts of style and fashion accessories to your box each month.

If you’d like to watch me open my Chaussure Boite box, watch the video below! Or, scroll down to read my written review.

IMG_3885

The Box: Chaussure Boite

The Cost: $35/month

Chaussure Boite‘s goal is to help support small business owners and make their dreams a reality. I really love when companies use their influence to discover new businesses and introduce them to a bigger audience. I was super excited to see what accessories would be included in my box!

IMG_3881

Necklace and Earring Set

Value: Approx $20.00

I wasn’t able to find this exact set in the Chaussure Boite Shop so I estimated the value based on the other pieces. This is a really darling set. I typically don’t wear matching earring and necklace combos and I love the fact that these are both statement pieces that would be darling on their own. The stones are a soft, clear pink color and I was happy to see that the necklace has an adjustable clasp.

IMG_3882

Here’s a closer look at these super cute earrings! These will look great with a smooth ponytail.

IMG_3883

Handmade Clutch by A. Nicole Divine Designs

Value: $20.00

Again, I guessed on this value based on the quality of the materials and cuteness factor. A. Nicole handmakes her products to fit your exact request! I love the body color of this clutch, it’s a metallic gold but is almost matte so it doesn’t look tacky. I also really like how well the orange goes with the gold and the interior matches the handle fabric!

IMG_3884

Cute Socks

Value: $3.50

I don’t know where these socks came from but I love the pattern! I’m a sucker for cute socks and am always happy to add another pair to my collection. The colors are super vibrant and remind me of sailing.

Verdict: I’m really pleased with the items that I received in my July Chaussure Boite box! I do however, wish that they would have provided a bit more information about each of the products in the box. They are a new company so I’m sure they are still making changes as they grow. I think the mix of products is very diverse and everything that was included in my box was totally my style. I’d be interested to see what other businesses will be included in the future boxes!

Rx Vintage Subscription Review & Coupon Code!

Hi everybody 🙂

Today’s review is for a new company called Rx Vintage who styles you every month by sending you authentic vintage pieces to match your taste and incorporate into your wardrobe!

If you’d like to watch me open my box, feel free to click on the video below, otherwise keep reading!

IMG_3689

The Box: Rx Vintage

The Cost: $49/month for 2 items and $99/month for 4-5 items

I loved that Rx Vintage’s style profile was very extensive. They asked about all of my styling preferences, my familiarity with vintage as well as what type of fabric I like and dislike. I also loved the pretty, white feather they included in my package that is dipped in a metallic, gold paint. It will be great to wear in my hair for some sort of theme party!

IMG_3774

Vintage 1980’s Black Tea- Length Dress

Value: Approximately $55.00

This piece is in excellent condition! The description said that this dress was a maxi-dress, although for me it is definitely a tea-length dress. The dress is 100% acrylic which at first was a bit of a disappointment for me. However, after a bit of research I do see that a lot of pieces from the ’80’s were curated from acrylic and that it is a very durable fabric! Because this dress is tea-length on me, it will probably be gifted to a smaller friend, but I do really like the cinch-waste and the key-hole opening in the back!

IMG_3775

Vintage 1970’s lightweight tartan skirt

Value: Approx. $32.00

I really like this skirt 🙂 And it has pockets! It has a nice, lightweight fabric and a live-colored print that is really fun! It would be super cute with a pair of wedges and a cream colored t-shirt or blouse.

IMG_3776

Here’s another view of the skirt!

IMG_3777

I really liked this detailed flyer that was full of fun ideas and inspiration on how to style this skirt. I was bummed to see that there wasn’t a styling flyer for the black dress although I think it just may have been forgotten!

Verdict: What a neat subscription service! For someone who is new to vintage or loves vintage clothing this company is doing all of the work for you and finding pieces that fit your style and your body. Although the dress was not 100% for me, I could tell that a lot of thought and time went in to choosing these pieces. You are not at all obligated to keep your pieces if you do not like them, Rx Vintage wants you to be happy! I personally find shopping for vintage pieces a bit overwhelming so I love that Rx Vintage helps shop for you!

Today’s box review is for CurlKit, a fun company that sends hair products to women of color (typically) or to women that struggle with unruly hair! Click on the video below to watch me open my box or continue down to keep reading 🙂

IMG_3575

I couldn’t believe how heavy the box was when it arrived!

IMG_3716

The Box: CurlKit

The Cost: $20/month

CurlKit sends you a 6-9 samples each month of everything from pomades and conditioners to natural hair tools. They choose products to help control your hair without all of the harsh chemicals added in!

IMG_3717

Charming Head Triangle

Value: $5.95

IMG_3718

Yum Yum Soy Candle in Limoncello

Value: $6.00

This candle smells so good! I realize that this is not a hair care item, but the box was chalk full of goodies for your hair so I thought this was a nice surprise.

IMG_3719

Nyah Oatmeal & Honey Luxury Soap

Value: $3.00

I’m really curious about this brand. The soap smells really nice and it’s made with all natural ingredients. I’d love to find a bar soap that I actually enjoy using…maybe this is it?

IMG_3720

U R Curly Loose Curl Enhancer

Value: $1.75

This was the biggest sample packet I’ve ever seen! I’d like to try this product out myself as it’s supposed to naturally revive your curls and help to eliminate frizz. Just what I need!

III Sisters of Nature Natural Lengthening Creme

Value: $2.50

This product sounds really cool! It’s supposed to elongate, add length to your curls, waves, twist and kinks and give your hair added volume. This isn’t for my type of hair but I think I’ll pass this cream onto my friend Ramya to see what she thinks of it 🙂

IMG_3721

Ori Essentials Cleansing Conditioner & Leave-In Conditioner

Value: $11.00 & $12.00

These two products sound perfect for curly hair and they are full size! They are meant to help nourish and clean your curls, without leaving them dull or dry. They help to detangle your curls so that they can be smooth, shiny and silky!

IMG_3722

Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Threat Invigorating Shampoo and Conditioner

Value: $2.50

I had to resist eating this shampoo out of the bottle, it smelt delicious! I can tell these products would be great for waking up and refreshing your scalp. They’re also free of sulfates and made with natural ingredients so that’s an added bonus!

Verdict: Overall, I was really happy with this box. The value was $44.70, more than twice the cost! The products really do seem specific to women that struggle with unruly hair and curls which I like because that is what CurlKit says they’ll deliver! I was happy that they included a few other goodies in the box just to mix things up but still didn’t skimp on the haircare products at all.

Your Bijoux Box Subscription Review & Coupon Code!

Hello beauties 🙂

This is my review of Your Bijoux Box a monthly subscription box that sends you 2-3 hand-curated jewelery pieces each month. To watch me open my Your Bijoux Box, click play on the video below or continue down to read my written review!

IMG_3577

I loved the simple and sleek packaging of this box!

IMG_3580

The Box: Your Bijoux Box

The Cost: $35/month

I already loved this box just because of it’s name (bijoux means jewelery in French)!

IMG_3581

Dahlia Collar

Value: $58.00

I loved that each piece came in a beautiful, black velvet bag. When I picked up this bag I was impressed by the weight of the necklace! I can tell that the metal is good-quality and I absolutely love the pink/opalescent color of the stones. This is a statement piece that I can’t wait to show off.

IMG_3583

Deco Strand with Matching Earrings

Value: $46.00 and $28.00

This necklace is different than any layering piece I’ve seen before. I love the fact that it is gold metal but that it is accented with lavender. I photographed this necklace looped twice but it could also be worn as one long strand just as beautifully. I am a bit picky about the length of my necklaces, so I was happy to see that both of the necklaces in this box were adjustable.

IMG_3602

Bubble Bracelet (free with coupon code!)

Value: ?

I was so excited about this bracelet. I don’t know why but it is right up my style alley. I think this piece is so versatile as it would be darling with a bright colored dress during summer, or during autumn with a long-sleeve black shirt, scarf and boots. I can’t wait to rock this piece!

IMG_3588

Here’s a better look at how the little bubbles hang. Cute!

Verdict: The value of this box was $142.00 not including the free bracelet! WOAH! Apart from the value,  you can tell that these pieces are high quality and will hold up well. I think that each piece was unique and provides a different look. If you are searching for a jewelery subscription service I think Your Bijoux Box would be a great option especially considering it’s only $35/month.

Fit Fashionista Club Subscription Review!

Hi Everybody and Happy 4th of July!
This is my review of Ellie’s Fit Fashionista Club subscription service! To watch me open my Fit Fashionista Club box click on the video below otherwise scroll down to read my written review!

IMG_3459

The Box: Fit Fashionista Club by Ellie

The Cost: $49.95/month

The clothes came in this cute pink, bubble wrapped envelope, I was so excited to see them that I almost didn’t wait to make a video! But, I was good and resisted 🙂

Fit Fashionista Club is a subscription service that lets you choose two adorable work-out pieces to add to your wardrobe each month! The best part? There is no set combination. You can choose two tops, two bottoms or a top and a bottom. Ellie has tons of high-quality, darling fitness apparel and I was super excited to pick out my two pieces.

IMG_3498

Double Decker Capri

Value: $69.95

These capris are cute and super unique! They are made out of EllieTex, a breathable fabric that is chafe-resistant and breathable. Also, there are two ways to wear the wasteband, folded down (like above) or folded up (see photos below) so you can choose depending on what colors you want to accent!

IMG_3499

Venus Tank

Value: $59.95

I am obsessed with this tank. I put it on and immediately wanted to work out (imagine that!) because of how comfy and light it was. I love that the sports-bra is built in and that the back is relatively open. The fabric is a light mesh that is super soft. The sports-bra feels very supportive (although admittedly I don’t require too much) so I won’t need to wear another one underneath.

IMG_3460

Here’s my cute Ellie outfit! I’m ready to go to the gym! (almost)

IMG_3461

I love that the sides are low cut, I think it’s cute, classy and comfy.

IMG_3462

View from the back. How cute is that top??

IMG_3464

Here you can see the other option for the capris when you wear them rolled up. I love this coral color!

Verdict: If I would have purchased these pieces without a Fit Fashionista Club subscription, it would have cost around $130.00. Instead the cost of these two pieces with the subscription is $49.95! Ellie is constantly coming out with new collections and I absolutely love their pieces. I think I will be sprinting to signup for this subscription box. Granted, it’s a bit different from your traditional box because you get to pick what you get, but it still feels like a surprise when it shows up in the mailbox!

Would you like to sign up for Fit Fashionista? Head over HERE to sign up. If you like cute, fitness apparel, I wouldn’t wait!

Box Month Begins! Stunner of the Month Review & Subscription Giveaway!

Hello everyone!

July is finally here and you know what that means… Box Month! For those of you who haven’t yet heard, I decided to do a feature on my blog where I review a different subscription box everyday during the month of July! I have so many great subscription box services to share with you guys along with lots of coupon codes and giveaways! For each box I review, I will post a unboxing/first impression video followed by a more detailed blog post.

Let’s kickoff Box Month with my first review of Stunner of the Month!

Click play to watch the video below as I open the box, or continue to read my written review!

IMG_3432

The fire on the box made me ready to have my socks knocked off! 😉

The Box: Stunner of the Month

The Cost: $9/month

IMG_3433

These sunglasses are super fun! (If you want to see how they look on me watch the video above!) Not something I would ever pick out for myself but that’s why I love the idea of this box. Along with the sunglasses came a little key chain that has both a mini flat-head and philips-head screwdriver for tightening your sunglasses. This little key chain is pure gold. My sister and her boyfriend have already used it to tune up some of their old pairs of sunglasses.

Verdict: For only $9 a month I think this box is fantastic. What a fun way to try new sunglasses? If you’re anything like me, my sunglasses don’t ever last long due to the fact that they usually get sat on or fall off a boat (sigh). I think Stunner of the Month is a fun way to find new sunglasses that you may never have bought for yourself otherwise, and to keep your sunglasses stock full!

Did you like this box as much as I did? Good news… You can get your first month FREE by using the code trystunner when you sign up HERE.

Did you really like this box? Even more good news… The awesome people over at Stunner of the Month have agreed to giveaway one 6-month AND one 3-month subscription to Stunner of the Month to two of my lucky readers! This is a rafflecopter giveaway so cross your fingers and click on the link to enter below!
