Color Me Monthly Subscription Review! August 2013

Happy Friday!

Color Me Monthly is a subscription service that sends you a full-sized, high-quality nail polish each month from their signature color collection. CMM is focused on the quality of their polish not the prettiness of their packaging which I appreciate! So the package may not be darling, but you know the polish will be!

The Box: Color Me Monthly

The Cost: $7.00/month

All of CMM’s polishes are carcinogen-free, animal friendly and made in the USA!

This month’s color is Summer Tryst. I think this color is lovely and is great for this time of year because I can wear it for summer and it can carry over into the Autumn. I love that the card comes with a little swatch square so I can see the color immediately!

Verdict: Color Me Monthly is a great subscription box if you’re looking to build your polish collection a little bit at a time. This would also be a great little gift to brighten someones month. It’s not overly expensive and you’re getting what you pay for. I like this box! 🙂

Petit Vour Subscription Review & Giveaway! July 2013

Happy Saturday!

Today’s review is for a company called Petit Vour who is a 100% cruelty-free, vegan beauty box! To watch me open my box from Petit Vour, click on the video below or scroll on down to see my written review!

Each month Petit Vour sends you a selection of skin and beauty products that are all natural, vegan, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. I was really excited to review this box!

The Box: Petit Vour

The Cost: $15/month

Petit Vour works with the best companies from all around who put time, research & love into their products, without harming animals or having exploitative labor.

Sumbody Soap & Coupon Code for 10% off purchase (Code: PETITVOUR)

Value: $1.98

This soap smells lovely and would go perfectly in a guest bathroom. It’s made with shea and cocoa butter so it’s supposed to be extra hydrating and soft on your skin.

MUN Aknari Oil

Value: $6.33

I received this oil in my Green Grab Bag earlier this month and I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. However, it sounds like a miracle product and is supposed to be applied before bed to smooth and soften the skin and diminish signs of aging.

Tangerine and Calendula Cream by Kimberly Sayer

Value: $2.40

I will admit that I had never heard of Calendula before but I learned that it is a healing flower that works wonders on your skin. Combined with the tangerine, this night cream is supposed to soothe and detoxify your skin.

Dr. Remedy’s Enriched Nail Polish

Value: $17.00

I have never heard of Dr. Remedy’s before, but this nail polish formula looks amazing. The color is a beautiful, pure red and the polish contains wheat protein, tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract and lavender to nourish your nails. And it’s formaldehyde free! I can’t wait to try this.

Beauty Without Cruelty Natural Eye Pencil

Value: $16.95

I love the bright pop of this blue eye liner. I forgot to take a picture of the swatch for you guys but this applies super smooth and feels creamy, but doesn’t look to thick or heavy.

Verdict: The value of this box was $44.66, almost three times the cost! I only recognized one of the products which makes me happy because I love trying new brands, especially that are all natural and cruelty-free! I really enjoyed this box and it’s clear that Petit Vour really takes their mission of providing quality, green products seriously. 10 out of 10 from me!

Color Me Monthly Subscription Review!

Hello everybody 🙂
Hope you all are enjoying the sun as much as I am!

Today’s review is of Color Me Monthly, a monthly subscription box for cute, high-quality nail polish! If you’d like to see me open my box, click play on the video below or you can scroll down to read my review.

The Box: Color Me Monthly

The Cost: $7/month

I loved the no b.s. approach to their packaging. They’re here to give you nail polish, and they do just that! All of CMM’s polish is non-toxic, carcinogen-free, eco-friendly, never tested on animals and made in the USA! Each month CMM will send you one bottle of high-quality polish!

This color knocked my socks off! It is a super rich, dandelion, yellow. I love that it came with a little card that had a poem to go with the name of the color. I probably wouldn’t wear this color on my fingernails but definitely would on my toes. And, it’s a great color for doing fun designs!

Verdict: Color Me Monthly is the perfect box for doing exactly what it says it will do, send you one bottle of high-quality polish every month. I love that the color is a surprise and I feel good that it is free of toxins and made in the USA!

Glossybox Subcription Review – May 2013

This is a more detailed review of my May Glossybox France. I received this box today (June 1) so it just missed the end of the month!

The box came very cutely wrapped. My only “complaint” is that they use a lot of confetti paper inside just to make the box look more full and I think they could definitely go without it because it seems like such a waste of paper! (Sorry, we’ve got a Seattleite over here)

The Box: Glossybox France

The Cost: 15.50 euros/$20 (including shipping)

Payot Les Correctrices Special Rides Creme
Value: $21.70…this stuff is pricey!

I did a little research on this brand and it has a very good reputation in France. This is a wrinkle correcting cream so I haven’t decided if I am going to try it (I have some tiny fine wrinkles starting around my eyes) or if I will give it to my ma to try.

Smink Cosmetics Crack Nail PolishValue: $5.00

I suppose this is the time to confess that I have never tried a crackle polish. I’m glad this polish came in the box because I’m not sure I would have bought it on my own but I will definitely try it. Maybe I will become a crackle polish addict!

Tony and Guy Firm Hold Hairspray
Value: $2.46

I ran out of hairspray recently and have been putting off buying it until I got home but my flyaways are getting a little ridiculous. This spray is the perfect size and will more than last me the next month!

Amethyst Lalique Perfumed Body Lotion
Value: $26.80

I really wish I used scented body lotion because this one truly smells great. I just tend to like lotions with less scent to them. I will definitely be gifting this to a lucky friend. I am not complaining that it was in my box though because it really is a great product and with a big value as well!

Anatomicals You Need A Blooming Shower – Rose & Jasmine Body Cleanser

Value: $2.50

This body wash smells SO good. Like SO good. I didn’t even know I like the smell of roses but now I can’t wait to lather this on in the shower!

Verdict: I was really pleased with this box! I was actually to receive more skincare products and less cosmetics this month so this box was perfect for me. The total value of the box was $58.46 which is almost 3 times what I paid so no complaints there. Again, my only suggestion would be that I would love if they looked into a little more eco-friendly packaging. Did anyone receive the US May Glossybox? Were the products similar?

Joliebox Subscription Review – May 2013

This is a review of Joliebox from the month of May. Joliebox is a French beauty box subscription that sends you 4 to 5 beauty products each month. You fill out a beauty profile before you subscribe and sometimes you even get to pick one of the products that will be in your box! Currently, they only ship within France, but there is also Joliebox that is available in the UK! To view my unboxing/first impression video of my May Joliebox box click HERE.

The Box: Joliebox

The Cost: 13 euros/month (including shipping)

Patyka Absolis Face and Body Serum

Value: $1.07

I haven’t tried this oil yet but it has received fantastic reviews and is 100% natural and made with 59% organic ingredients. Excited to give this a try!

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream

Value: $1.23

This cream is fantastic and a little goes a long way. I tried some on my hands and elbows and it applies very smoothly. It feels a little greasy at first but absorbs quickly. I may be buying this!

Mirenesse Glossy Kiss Lip & Cheek Color in Cheeky Kiss

Value: $29.95

I am so excited about this product! First of all, it is full size and pays for the box twice all by itself. Secondly, I love that you can use it on the lips but also on the cheeks. I am always looking for makeup product that can serve more than one purpose.

Models Own Nail Polish in Beth’s Blue

Value: $7.60

Another full size product! I had never tried Models Own polish, but I have heard of it. My friend Cyrielle was so excited when she saw this polish that I decided to let her try it first. You can see her nails below after two coats. She said that the polish goes on a bit thick but it does cover very well.

Live in Love by Oscar de la Renta

Value: $0.53

This perfume has a nice fresh, floral scent. It isn’t to heavy and I think it would be nice for the spring. I noticed that it didn’t last for a very long time though.

Filosofille Nail Buffer

Value: $7.67

Always great to have one of these on hand, and it has four sides for buffing, filing, shining and….something else. 🙂

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

Value: $6.65

I haven’t tried this product yet, but it is supposed to be used before shampooing like a masque. I have had some problems with dry hair lately so I am interested to see if this helps restore some shine.

Marvis Classic Strong Mint Toothpaste

Value: $1.40

This toothpaste is actually really nice! I tend to think all toothpaste is the same but this one had a strong, minty flavor that lasted for a long time. I have many french friends who swear by this brand!

Verdict: The value of this box blew me away! I payed $16.90 including shipping and received $56.10 worth of product. I think this box is darling and was very impressed by the variety of brands as well as the selection of products. I am excited that I will be receiving June’s box as well! Anybody out there subscribed to Joliebox? What did you think?
