IMG_3934

Each month Petit Vour sends you a selection of skin and beauty products that are all natural, vegan, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. I was really excited to review this box!

IMG_3935

The Box: Petit Vour

The Cost: $15/month

Petit Vour works with the best companies from all around who put time, research & love into their products, without harming animals or having exploitative labor.

IMG_3944

Sumbody Soap & Coupon Code for 10% off purchase (Code: PETITVOUR)

Value: $1.98

This soap smells lovely and would go perfectly in a guest bathroom. It’s made with shea and cocoa butter so it’s supposed to be extra hydrating and soft on your skin.

IMG_3945

MUN Aknari Oil

Value: $6.33

I received this oil in my Green Grab Bag earlier this month and I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. However, it sounds like a miracle product and is supposed to be applied before bed to smooth and soften the skin and diminish signs of aging.

IMG_3946

Tangerine and Calendula Cream by Kimberly Sayer

Value: $2.40

I will admit that I had never heard of Calendula before but I learned that it is a healing flower that works wonders on your skin. Combined with the tangerine, this night cream is supposed to soothe and detoxify your skin.

IMG_3947

Dr. Remedy’s Enriched Nail Polish

Value: $17.00

I have never heard of Dr. Remedy’s before, but this nail polish formula looks amazing. The color is a beautiful, pure red and the polish contains wheat protein, tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract and lavender to nourish your nails. And it’s formaldehyde free! I can’t wait to try this.

IMG_3948

Beauty Without Cruelty Natural Eye Pencil

Value: $16.95

I love the bright pop of this blue eye liner. I forgot to take a picture of the swatch for you guys but this applies super smooth and feels creamy, but doesn’t look to thick or heavy.

Verdict: The value of this box was $44.66, almost three times the cost! I only recognized one of the products which makes me happy because I love trying new brands, especially that are all natural and cruelty-free! I really enjoyed this box and it’s clear that Petit Vour really takes their mission of providing quality, green products seriously. 10 out of 10 from me!

Green Grab Bag Subscription Review! July 2013

Hi!

Today’s review is for a company called Green Grab Bag, an all natural beauty box that let’s you decide what’s inside your box…or not 🙂

To watch me open my Green Grab Bag, click play on the video below or scroll down to read my written review.

IMG_3891Green Grab bags offers a wide variety of natural, organic and/or vegan skincare, beauty products and hair care. They also recently created a build your box option that allows you to choose the samples that you are going to receive in that months box. I’m all about natural products and I was excited to see what brands would come in my Green Grab Bag; I received a surprise box, so I didn’t know what was coming.

IMG_3892

The Box: Green Grab Bag

The Cost: $15/month for the level-one box

The card was very detailed and included all of the products in the box in addition to instructions on how to use them.

IMG_3893

Free Download from Yogadownload.com

Value: Up to $10.00

Yogadownload.com is a great site that has all sorts of workout videos for cardio, abs, yoga, pilates and so much more! Their prices range depending on the length of the class and whether you want to download it or stream it. They even have some free classes on their site. I’m excited to use this free download, now I just have to decide what class I want to take!

IMG_3894

Pura Botanica Hand Cream

Value: $1.00

I find that a lot of hand creams have too strong of a scent but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It has a slight hint of Aloe and Vanilla and is supposed to be rich in antioxidants. Also, a portion of the proceeds go to the National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation so that’s pretty neat!

IMG_3897

MUN No.1 Aknari – Nighttime Dream Youth Serum

Value: $6.30

I couldn’t believe the value of this tiny little vial of oil! After reading a bit about this serum I’m intrigued. “Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Argan Oil combine to transform the appearance of your skin, while soothing Rose Oil lightly scents your sweetest dreams.” You dab it on your face and neck before bed and over time it is supposed to even skin tone and diminish the appearance of fine lines!

IMG_3898

Dr. Sponge Facial Cleansing Sponge

Value: $8.50

This sponge gently exfoliates and is mild enough for sensitive skin. Score! It’s main ingredient is Konjac which is infused with a lot of vitamins and proteins that are great for your skin.

IMG_3899

Shea Terra Organics Cape Chamomile Shea Butter

Value: $3.50

I couldn’t find this exact product on their website but I found many other delicious scented and unscented shea butters. For those of you who aren’t familiar with shea butter it is a miracle worker. It’s great for treating eczema, dry skin, psoriasis, stretch marks, wrinkles and is safe for babies. Needless to say I am excited to give this one a try 🙂

IMG_3900

Buffalo Gal Starry Night Lip Lover

Value: $4.00

This balm had such cute packaging and smelt so yummy that I opened it and smeared it on my lips right away. It goes on super smooth and tastes like oranges. This balm will be going to immediate use!

IMG_3901

Fleegal Farms Sea Soap

Value: $2.00

This soap is all natural and vegan and it has sea salt in it to make it like a scrub on your body. When I opened my Green Grab Bag, I could smell the soap and it is a really nice, fresh scent. Like being at the beach!

Verdict: The value of this box is around $31.00 (a little more or less depending on which yoga class you download) which is double the cost! I love every product that I received and don’t feel like any of them were irrelevant or out of place. I think it’s really neat that you have the option to customize your own Green Grab bag because it still gives you the opportunity to try new products before you buy full-size, but it isn’t a complete mystery. This is a box I would definitely subscribe to myself!

IMG_3527

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (Aforable)

Value: $9.99

I have yet to try these nail polish strips and I’m super excited to have gotten them in the box! This floral print is fancy and I can’t wait to try it 🙂

IMG_3528

Rimmel London Glam Eyes HD

Value: $4.99

Ok lets be real…how stinking cute is this thing? This is getting gifted to one of my friends who love the UK. The color palette is actually great because there is a highlighter, a crease color, and an overall lid color.

IMG_3529

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

Value: $7.99

I like that this blush is lighter like a powder but it feels a little more like cream so it’s easy to blend!

IMG_3530

Essence of Beauty Mini Brush Set

Value: $9.99

I love this little bitty brush set and it came in a cute velcro pack so it won’t get destroyed in my makeup bag!

IMG_3531

Mary Kay Cosmetics Case

Value: $5.00?

This is a cute, simple cosmetics case and I love the little pink bow 🙂

IMG_3532

Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Gloss

Value: $5.50

I really like the color of this gloss and I like that it has just a tiny bit of shimmer, but not big chunky ones.

IMG_3533

Essie Nail Color (e-nuf is e-nuf)

Value: $5.25

IMG_3534

Rimmel Lasting-Finish Lipstick Kate Moss Collection

Value: $4.19

This color is intense! I can’t wait to give it a shot. I would never have bought this color myself which is exactly why I’m thrilled to have gotten in this box.

IMG_3538

Here’s a swatch of that darling color!

IMG_3535

Styli-Style Eyeliner (Jade)

Value: $5.99

This eyeliner is a perfect shade for my lower lash line and it’s waterproof too which is great for summer!

IMG_3537

Verdict: The value of this box was just under $60.00! There were SO many products in here and they were all full-sized! I openly use all sorts of drug-store brands in my daily routine so I’m super happy with the selection. I love using department store products as well but I think there are many drug store brands that work just as well. This would be a great box especially if you’d like to beef up your makeup stock. I really enjoyed this box!

Beauty Box 5 Subscription Review

Hey Lovelies 🙂

This is my review of Beauty Box 5’s subscription service! To watch me open my Beauty Box 5 watch the video below otherwise scroll down to read my written review!

IMG_3468

I was at first surprised because the box is smaller then I was anticipating, but I quickly recovered because there were some really great products inside!
IMG_3469

The Box: Beauty Box 5

The Cost: $12/month
IMG_3470

Model Co Illusion Lip Enhancer Kit

Value: $20.00

First let me say, WOW. The first product I pull out of the box is worth almost double the cost of the whole box. This pencil goes on super smoothly and I love that it has a pencil sharpener built in to the cap, how brilliant is that? Check out the swatch below.
IMG_3479

I haven’t tried this pencil while wearing a lip color yet so I’m not sure if it helps hold in the color but it certainly feels nice on my lips! It goes on smoothly and isn’t to waxy or dry.
IMG_3471

Blinc Mascara

Value: $7.99

I have never heard of this type of product before! Apparently it coats your lashes and forms these little tubes to help lengthen and add volume. But when you take it off, the tubes just come right off without makeup remover. Cool right? I’m excited to try out this product.
IMG_3472

Brazen Eyeshadow in Skip a Beat

Value: $7.99

This shadow has a very fine, almost weightless texture. (Check out the swatch below) At first, I thought it was a little to colorless for my liking, but I decided that it would make a great highlighter as it isn’t too white. I like highlighters that highlight (duh) but don’t look like sparkly powdered sugar either.
IMG_3474

As you can see it’s almost nude, but it does have a slight peachy color and some pretty, discreet sparkles.
IMG_3475

Jean Pierre Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues

Value: $1.99

I realize this product isn’t super special, nor high value, but let’s be real…it’s summer! I was happy to have these because I can always use them in summer when I get sweaty during the day and end up looking a little shiny by the evening! These are perfect to throw in my purse so that I can have them handy.
IMG_3476

Bodyography Foundation Primer in Clear

Value: $4.50

I’m currently on the hunt for a new facial primer so I was excited to see this in the box. I currently use MAC facial primer and I like it a lot, but sometimes I just get bored and want to switch things up you know?

Verdict: The total value of this box was $42.47 which is almost 4 times the cost of the box! I was impressed with the selection of products that Beauty Box 5 offered although let’s face it…I’m thrilled just that I received the pencil! All of the other products are little bonuses which I love too 🙂 For $12 a month I think that BB5 would be a great box for those of you who want to dip your toes into the Beauty Box world and get a good value for your money at the same time.

My Little Box Subscription Review- June 2013

This is a review of my first My Little Box, a french subscription box that has a new theme every month. Click play to watch the video below, or continue to read my written review!

IMG_3315

The box was super cutely packaged, I love the little designs on the front and I was thrilled to see that this month was My Little Party Box. Cute!

The Box: My Little Box

The Cost: 15.50 euros/month

IMG_3320

Boho Green Revolution Matte Eye Shadow in Café

Value: 8.15 €

I was thrilled to see this shadow in the box. I’ve been needing a new base shadow and this color is perfect for me. It goes on super silky and is 100% organic! (See color swatch below)

IMG_3321

NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in Bronze Glitter

Value: 3.00 €

I’ve never used NYX products before but I love this color! It’s sparkly but it goes on super smoothly. This will be perfect for going out on the town or maybe even on dates if my boyfriend still wants to take me out after being apart for a year 😉

IMG_3323
The upper swatch is of the Green Revolution Shadow and the lower is of the NYX eye pencil. Sparkles!

IMG_3319

My Little Beauty Huile Corporelle

Value: 18.00 €

I was excited to see this body oil in the box. This isn’t something I would have bought for myself but I will definitely be putting it to use! The oil is a nice texture, not to thick and there are tiny little sparkles that illuminate the skin. Perfect for highlighting! They have not yet made this product available on their site, but I imagine it will be soon!

IMG_3316

Rock Your Hair Elastic

Value: 3.00 € ?

I love this elastic! I have a ton of hair and find myself wearing ponytails a little too often. This will be a great way to dress up my everyday pony.

IMG_3317

Let’s Party Cuff

Value: 5.00 € ?

I am a little disappointed about this cuff because I think it is super cute but it is too big! It has an adorable engraving on the inside that says “Let’s Party”. Unfortunately I won’t be able to wear this because it is too big and falls right off my wrist but I will gift it to a lucky friend 🙂

?IMG_3318

Payot Hydration 24 Body Cream

Value: 3.25 €

This cream is great! It goes on super smoothly and isn’t greasy at all. Perfect for summer. It claims to help firm skin and improve its elasticity. I’ll have to see if I notice a difference.

Verdict: This box was so cute! I was really excited about what was inside. The cost of the box was 15.50 € and the value was 40.00 €! Almost 3 times the cost! I am so sad I can’t be subscribed to this box in the U.S.. I really hope they will look into international shipping soon. For now, I settled by subscribing my friend Cyrielle to a 3-month subscription for her birthday and I plan on stalking all of her boxes 🙂

IMG_3010

Patyka Absolis Face and Body Serum

Value: $1.07

I haven’t tried this oil yet but it has received fantastic reviews and is 100% natural and made with 59% organic ingredients. Excited to give this a try!

IMG_3009

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream

Value: $1.23

This cream is fantastic and a little goes a long way. I tried some on my hands and elbows and it applies very smoothly. It feels a little greasy at first but absorbs quickly. I may be buying this!

IMG_3008

Mirenesse Glossy Kiss Lip & Cheek Color in Cheeky Kiss

Value: $29.95

I am so excited about this product! First of all, it is full size and pays for the box twice all by itself. Secondly, I love that you can use it on the lips but also on the cheeks. I am always looking for makeup product that can serve more than one purpose.

IMG_3007

Models Own Nail Polish in Beth’s Blue

Value: $7.60

Another full size product! I had never tried Models Own polish, but I have heard of it. My friend Cyrielle was so excited when she saw this polish that I decided to let her try it first. You can see her nails below after two coats. She said that the polish goes on a bit thick but it does cover very well.

IMG_3012

IMG_3006

Live in Love by Oscar de la Renta

Value: $0.53

This perfume has a nice fresh, floral scent. It isn’t to heavy and I think it would be nice for the spring. I noticed that it didn’t last for a very long time though.

IMG_3005

Filosofille Nail Buffer

Value: $7.67

Always great to have one of these on hand, and it has four sides for buffing, filing, shining and….something else. 🙂

IMG_3003

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

Value: $6.65

I haven’t tried this product yet, but it is supposed to be used before shampooing like a masque. I have had some problems with dry hair lately so I am interested to see if this helps restore some shine.

IMG_3004

Marvis Classic Strong Mint Toothpaste

Value: $1.40

This toothpaste is actually really nice! I tend to think all toothpaste is the same but this one had a strong, minty flavor that lasted for a long time. I have many french friends who swear by this brand!

Verdict: The value of this box blew me away! I payed $16.90 including shipping and received $56.10 worth of product. I think this box is darling and was very impressed by the variety of brands as well as the selection of products. I am excited that I will be receiving June’s box as well! Anybody out there subscribed to Joliebox? What did you think?
