Color Me Monthly Subscription Review! August 2013

Happy Friday!

Color Me Monthly is a subscription service that sends you a full-sized, high-quality nail polish each month from their signature color collection. CMM is focused on the quality of their polish not the prettiness of their packaging which I appreciate! So the package may not be darling, but you know the polish will be!

The Box: Color Me Monthly

The Cost: $7.00/month

All of CMM’s polishes are carcinogen-free, animal friendly and made in the USA!

This month’s color is Summer Tryst. I think this color is lovely and is great for this time of year because I can wear it for summer and it can carry over into the Autumn. I love that the card comes with a little swatch square so I can see the color immediately!

Verdict: Color Me Monthly is a great subscription box if you’re looking to build your polish collection a little bit at a time. This would also be a great little gift to brighten someones month. It’s not overly expensive and you’re getting what you pay for. I like this box! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Saturday!

Today’s review is for a company called Petit Vour who is a 100% cruelty-free, vegan beauty box! To watch me open my box from Petit Vour, click on the video below or scroll on down to see my written review!

Each month Petit Vour sends you a selection of skin and beauty products that are all natural, vegan, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. I was really excited to review this box!

The Box: Petit Vour

The Cost: $15/month

Petit Vour works with the best companies from all around who put time, research & love into their products, without harming animals or having exploitative labor.

Sumbody Soap & Coupon Code for 10% off purchase (Code: PETITVOUR)

Value: $1.98

This soap smells lovely and would go perfectly in a guest bathroom. It’s made with shea and cocoa butter so it’s supposed to be extra hydrating and soft on your skin.

MUN Aknari Oil

Value: $6.33

I received this oil in my Green Grab Bag earlier this month and I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. However, it sounds like a miracle product and is supposed to be applied before bed to smooth and soften the skin and diminish signs of aging.

Tangerine and Calendula Cream by Kimberly Sayer

Value: $2.40

I will admit that I had never heard of Calendula before but I learned that it is a healing flower that works wonders on your skin. Combined with the tangerine, this night cream is supposed to soothe and detoxify your skin.

Dr. Remedy’s Enriched Nail Polish

Value: $17.00

I have never heard of Dr. Remedy’s before, but this nail polish formula looks amazing. The color is a beautiful, pure red and the polish contains wheat protein, tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract and lavender to nourish your nails. And it’s formaldehyde free! I can’t wait to try this.

Beauty Without Cruelty Natural Eye Pencil

Value: $16.95

I love the bright pop of this blue eye liner. I forgot to take a picture of the swatch for you guys but this applies super smooth and feels creamy, but doesn’t look to thick or heavy.

Verdict: The value of this box was $44.66, almost three times the cost! I only recognized one of the products which makes me happy because I love trying new brands, especially that are all natural and cruelty-free! I really enjoyed this box and it’s clear that Petit Vour really takes their mission of providing quality, green products seriously. 10 out of 10 from me!

Green Grab Bag Subscription Review! July 2013

Today’s review is for a company called Green Grab Bag, an all natural beauty box that let’s you decide what’s inside your box…or not ๐Ÿ™‚

To watch me open my Green Grab Bag, click play on the video below or scroll down to read my written review.

IMG_3891Green Grab bags offers a wide variety of natural, organic and/or vegan skincare, beauty products and hair care. They also recently created a build your box option that allows you to choose the samples that you are going to receive in that months box. I’m all about natural products and I was excited to see what brands would come in my Green Grab Bag; I received a surprise box, so I didn’t know what was coming.

The Box: Green Grab Bag

The Cost: $15/month for the level-one box

The card was very detailed and included all of the products in the box in addition to instructions on how to use them.

Free Download from

Value: Up to $10.00 is a great site that has all sorts of workout videos for cardio, abs, yoga, pilates and so much more! Their prices range depending on the length of the class and whether you want to download it or stream it. They even have some free classes on their site. I’m excited to use this free download, now I just have to decide what class I want to take!

Pura Botanica Hand Cream

Value: $1.00

I find that a lot of hand creams have too strong of a scent but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It has a slight hint of Aloe and Vanilla and is supposed to be rich in antioxidants. Also, a portion of the proceeds go to the National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation so that’s pretty neat!

MUN No.1 Aknari – Nighttime Dream Youth Serum

Value: $6.30

I couldn’t believe the value of this tiny little vial of oil! After reading a bit about this serum I’m intrigued. “Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Argan Oil combine to transform the appearance of your skin, while soothing Rose Oil lightly scents your sweetest dreams.” You dab it on your face and neck before bed and over time it is supposed to even skin tone and diminish the appearance of fine lines!

Dr. Sponge Facial Cleansing Sponge

Value: $8.50

This sponge gently exfoliates and is mild enough for sensitive skin. Score! It’s main ingredient is Konjac which is infused with a lot of vitamins and proteins that are great for your skin.

Shea Terra Organics Cape Chamomile Shea Butter

Value: $3.50

I couldn’t find this exact product on their website but I found many other delicious scented and unscented shea butters. For those of you who aren’t familiar with shea butter it is a miracle worker. It’s great for treating eczema, dry skin, psoriasis, stretch marks, wrinkles and is safe for babies. Needless to say I am excited to give this one a try ๐Ÿ™‚

Buffalo Gal Starry Night Lip Lover

Value: $4.00

This balm had such cute packaging and smelt so yummy that I opened it and smeared it on my lips right away. It goes on super smooth and tastes like oranges. This balm will be going to immediate use!

Fleegal Farms Sea Soap

Value: $2.00

This soap is all natural and vegan and it has sea salt in it to make it like a scrub on your body. When I opened my Green Grab Bag, I could smell the soap and it is a really nice, fresh scent. Like being at the beach!

Verdict: The value of this box is around $31.00 (a little more or less depending on which yoga class you download) which is double the cost! I love every product that I received and don’t feel like any of them were irrelevant or out of place. I think it’s really neat that you have the option to customize your own Green Grab bag because it still gives you the opportunity to try new products before you buy full-size, but it isn’t a complete mystery. This is a box I would definitely subscribe to myself!

From the Lab Subscription Review – July 2013

Hey readers ๐Ÿ™‚
Today’s review is for a company called From the Lab.ย  From the lab sends you “beauty breakthroughs from the top European labs up to 18 months before retail.” They have partnered with some of the top labs in the world to find new and innovative beauty & skincare products that you will receive before the general public has access! Check out my video below to see my first impression or read on to see my written review!

I like that the products sent to you from From the Lab are full 30-day supplies, so you aren’t just receiving little product samples. I think this is especially important with skincare, because it takes a while for your skin to adjust to new products!

The Box:

The Cost: $19.95/month (charter member price, sign up fast to be locked in to this price for life!) $29.95/month after charter membership closes

I loved my June From the Lab box and wear the eye primer every day, so I was excited to see what was in my July box!

Eye Cream No. 579

This cream has so many beneficial properties I don’t even know where to begin! It is meant to cool and refresh the skin around your eyes and help alleviate puffiness and under eye bags in addition to reducing fine lines. This month, From the Lab chose products that are meant to protect the skin from environmental toxins that build up and can harm our skin. Some of the ingredients in this eye cream are tomato stem cell culture, ginseng, caffeine, Rice and Pomegrantate Extracts, Aloe Vera Extract and Vitamin B3! I really do struggle with under eye circles and puffiness with my allergies so I’m really excited to try this eye cream.

24-Hour Face Cram No. 578

I really like the texture of this face cream. It’s soft and light and could be worn during the night without clogging up my pores. It is supposed to neutralize free radical damage, purify and protect your skin from toxins. It also stimulates collagen production and minimizes the appearance of premature aging! I don’t think I need to be using a cream that reverses the effects of aging however, I am definitely happy to try a cream that just slows that process down all together. I don’t think it is ever too early to start protecting your skin from aging damage. I just bought a new face cream so I may not use this one for a while but I will absolutely use it when I finish my current moisturizer!

Verdict: I think From the Lab is such a great concept for a beauty box. They eliminate all of the time and cost that is wasted waiting for new products to come out into the consumer public. Here you are just paying for a high-quality product and that is it. I also really like that the products are full size and can be used for 30 days (my eye primer is going to last me longer than that!) I love trying new products even before they hit the market so this box is right up my alley and I know I’d be spending way more money if I was to buy these products in a store!

Want to sign up for From the Lab? Do it quick to get locked in at their Charter Membership Price! Click HERE to learn more and to sign up today ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, stay tuned for a giveaway and your chance to win a free box from From the Lab!

CurlKit Subscription Box Review!

Hey guys!

Is anyone else really ready for the weekend? I know I am!

Today’s box review is for CurlKit, a fun company that sends hair products to women of color (typically) or to women that struggle with unruly hair! Click on the video below to watch me open my box or continue down to keep reading ๐Ÿ™‚

I couldn’t believe how heavy the box was when it arrived!

The Box: CurlKit

The Cost: $20/month

CurlKit sends you a 6-9 samples each month of everything from pomades and conditioners to natural hair tools. They choose products to help control your hair without all of the harsh chemicals added in!

Charming Head Triangle

Value: $5.95

Yum Yum Soy Candle in Limoncello

Value: $6.00

This candle smells so good! I realize that this is not a hair care item, but the box was chalk full of goodies for your hair so I thought this was a nice surprise.

Nyah Oatmeal & Honey Luxury Soap

Value: $3.00

I’m really curious about this brand. The soap smells really nice and it’s made with all natural ingredients. I’d love to find a bar soap that I actually enjoy using…maybe this is it?

U R Curly Loose Curl Enhancer

Value: $1.75

This was the biggest sample packet I’ve ever seen! I’d like to try this product out myself as it’s supposed to naturally revive your curls and help to eliminate frizz. Just what I need!

III Sisters of Nature Natural Lengthening Creme

Value: $2.50

This product sounds really cool! It’s supposed to elongate, add length to your curls, waves, twist and kinks and give your hair added volume. This isn’t for my type of hair but I think I’ll pass this cream onto my friend Ramya to see what she thinks of it ๐Ÿ™‚

Ori Essentials Cleansing Conditioner & Leave-In Conditioner

Value: $11.00 & $12.00

These two products sound perfect for curly hair and they are full size! They are meant to help nourish and clean your curls, without leaving them dull or dry. They help to detangle your curls so that they can be smooth, shiny and silky!

Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Threat Invigorating Shampoo and Conditioner

Value: $2.50

I had to resist eating this shampoo out of the bottle, it smelt delicious! I can tell these products would be great for waking up and refreshing your scalp. They’re also free of sulfates and made with natural ingredients so that’s an added bonus!

Verdict: Overall, I was really happy with this box. The value was $44.70, more than twice the cost! The products really do seem specific to women that struggle with unruly hair and curls which I like because that is what CurlKit says they’ll deliver! I was happy that they included a few other goodies in the box just to mix things up but still didn’t skimp on the haircare products at all.

Your Bijoux Box Subscription Review & Coupon Code!

Hello beauties ๐Ÿ™‚

This is my review of Your Bijoux Box a monthly subscription box that sends you 2-3 hand-curated jewelery pieces each month. To watch me open my Your Bijoux Box, click play on the video below or continue down to read my written review!

I loved the simple and sleek packaging of this box!

The Box: Your Bijoux Box

The Cost: $35/month

I already loved this box just because of it’s name (bijoux means jewelery in French)!

Dahlia Collar

Value: $58.00

I loved that each piece came in a beautiful, black velvet bag. When I picked up this bag I was impressed by the weight of the necklace! I can tell that the metal is good-quality and I absolutely love the pink/opalescent color of the stones. This is a statement piece that I can’t wait to show off.

Deco Strand with Matching Earrings

Value: $46.00 and $28.00

This necklace is different than any layering piece I’ve seen before. I love the fact that it is gold metal but that it is accented with lavender. I photographed this necklace looped twice but it could also be worn as one long strand just as beautifully. I am a bit picky about the length of my necklaces, so I was happy to see that both of the necklaces in this box were adjustable.

Bubble Bracelet (free with coupon code!)

Value: ?

I was so excited about this bracelet. I don’t know why but it is right up my style alley. I think this piece is so versatile as it would be darling with a bright colored dress during summer, or during autumn with a long-sleeve black shirt, scarf and boots. I can’t wait to rock this piece!

Here’s a better look at how the little bubbles hang. Cute!

Verdict:ย The value of this box was $142.00 not including the free bracelet! WOAH! Apart from the value,ย  you can tell that these pieces are high quality and will hold up well. I think that each piece was unique and provides a different look. If you are searching for a jewelery subscription service I think Your Bijoux Box would be a great option especially considering it’s only $35/month.

Ok lets be real…how stinking cute is this thing? This is getting gifted to one of my friends who love the UK. The color palette is actually great because there is a highlighter, a crease color, and an overall lid color.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

Value: $7.99

I like that this blush is lighter like a powder but it feels a little more like cream so it’s easy to blend!

Essence of Beauty Mini Brush Set

Value: $9.99

I love this little bitty brush set and it came in a cute velcro pack so it won’t get destroyed in my makeup bag!

Mary Kay Cosmetics Case

Value: $5.00?

This is a cute, simple cosmetics case and I love the little pink bow ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Gloss

Value: $5.50

I really like the color of this gloss and I like that it has just a tiny bit of shimmer, but not big chunky ones.

Essie Nail Color (e-nuf is e-nuf)

Value: $5.25

Rimmel Lasting-Finish Lipstick Kate Moss Collection

Value: $4.19

This color is intense! I can’t wait to give it a shot. I would never have bought this color myself which is exactly why I’m thrilled to have gotten in this box.

Here’s a swatch of that darling color!

Styli-Style Eyeliner (Jade)

Value: $5.99

This eyeliner is a perfect shade for my lower lash line and it’s waterproof too which is great for summer!

Verdict: The value of this box was just under $60.00! There were SO many products in here and they were all full-sized! I openly use all sorts of drug-store brands in my daily routine so I’m super happy with the selection. I love using department store products as well but I think there are many drug store brands that work just as well. This would be a great box especially if you’d like to beef up your makeup stock. I really enjoyed this box!

This color knocked my socks off! It is a super rich, dandelion, yellow. I love that it came with a little card that had a poem to go with the name of the color. I probably wouldn’t wear this color on my fingernails but definitely would on my toes. And, it’s a great color for doing fun designs!

MiaTempo Subscription Review & Giveaway!

Happy Monday my lovely readers!

Today I have a very exciting review for you guys AND another giveaway!

This is my review of MiaTempo, an all natural, organic spa and beauty box designed to give women a little ‘me time’ each month. If you’d like to watch me open my box click play on the video below. Or, scroll down to read my written review!

After reading about this box, and chatting with the founder Christina, I was so excited to receive my box for review! Whenever possible, MiaTempo includes skin care and beauty products that are made in the USA.ย  Christina acknowledged that are some great products that are made outside of the U.S. but she believes in trying to support local products and the jobs they help create whenever possible.

Another aspect of MiaTempo that really inspired me is the fact that every month, a portion of their proceeds are donated to charitable cause that coincides with our mission of empowering and inspiring women.ย  Since the launch of MiaTempo, they have helped to support Dress for Success, Breast Cancer Connections, Abbyโ€™s Closet, Vital Voices and Girls Inc.ย  Here is a quote from Christina: “We do this because Iโ€™ve been able to make it through some challenging times in my life thanks to the thoughtfulness, assistance and the charity of others, and I want to be able to give back what I can to help women everywhere.” How great is that?

The Box: MiaTempo

The Cost: $39.95/month (prices go down if you subscribe to multiple months at one time)

Green Way Small Hot Dot Tote Bag

Value: $8.00?

This bag is super cute and perfect for a trip to the beach. I love the little pocket on the front and also the fact that it zips shut so I can keep from getting crunchies inside ๐Ÿ™‚

Rinse Co Cafรฉ Mocha Powdered Mask

Value: $10.95

This mask is so neat! I’ve never heard of this Rinse brand, but I’ve already been converted. This mask is full of antioxidants & is slightly caffeinated. It helps “perk-up, de-puff and brighten your skin while helping your moisturizers & serums to penetrate faster & work better.” I thought it was so cool that you can add yogurt, honey, milk or anything creamy to mix this mask up!

Margarita Pucker Stick

Value: $4.00

So when they say Margarita, they mean margarita. My mom snagged this immediately and put some on. She said it was smooth and tasted exactly like a delicious margarita. Fun!

Del Sol Sunless Tanner

Value: $13.39

I’m not a huge Sunless Tanner fan simply because I’m always afraid about looking streaky or orange. However, I looked up some reviews for this product and people are raving about it. So for the sake of branching out, I think I might give this a try.

Ginger Lemongrass Body Spread

Value: $10.95

This spread smells SO yummy! It spreads on thick but quickly soaks in and the scent lingers which I love. This is a big jar and a little of this lotion goes a long way so I think this will last me for quite a while!

Verdict: The value of this box is just under $50.00. What a great value! Not to mention the fact that some of the proceeds are donated to a great cause. I think this box would be a fantastic gift for someone special or yourself. I think MiaTempo may just be on my must-have list. I can’t wait to use these products!

Would you like to sign up for Miatempo? Click HERE. In addition to letting me review this lovely box, Christina at MiaTempo has kindly agreed to giveaway a one-month subscription of MiaTempo to one of my lucky readers! Beauty Box 5 Subscription Review

Hey Lovelies ๐Ÿ™‚

This is my review of Beauty Box 5’s subscription service! To watch me open my Beauty Box 5 watch the video below otherwise scroll down to read my written review!

I was at first surprised because the box is smaller then I was anticipating, but I quickly recovered because there were some really great products inside!

The Box: Beauty Box 5

The Cost: $12/month

Model Co Illusion Lip Enhancer Kit

Value: $20.00

First let me say, WOW. The first product I pull out of the box is worth almost double the cost of the whole box. This pencil goes on super smoothly and I love that it has a pencil sharpener built in to the cap, how brilliant is that? Check out the swatch below.

I haven’t tried this pencil while wearing a lip color yet so I’m not sure if it helps hold in the color but it certainly feels nice on my lips! It goes on smoothly and isn’t to waxy or dry.

Blinc Mascara

Value: $7.99

I have never heard of this type of product before! Apparently it coats your lashes and forms these little tubes to help lengthen and add volume. But when you take it off, the tubes just come right off without makeup remover. Cool right? I’m excited to try out this product.

Brazen Eyeshadow in Skip a Beat

Value: $7.99

This shadow has a very fine, almost weightless texture. (Check out the swatch below) At first, I thought it was a little to colorless for my liking, but I decided that it would make a great highlighter as it isn’t too white. I like highlighters that highlight (duh) but don’t look like sparkly powdered sugar either.

As you can see it’s almost nude, but it does have a slight peachy color and some pretty, discreet sparkles.

Jean Pierre Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues

Value: $1.99

I realize this product isn’t super special, nor high value, but let’s be real…it’s summer! I was happy to have these because I can always use them in summer when I get sweaty during the day and end up looking a little shiny by the evening! These are perfect to throw in my purse so that I can have them handy.

Bodyography Foundation Primer in Clear

Value: $4.50

I’m currently on the hunt for a new facial primer so I was excited to see this in the box. I currently use MAC facial primer and I like it a lot, but sometimes I just get bored and want to switch things up you know?

Verdict: The total value of this box was $42.47 which is almost 4 times the cost of the box! I was impressed with the selection of products that Beauty Box 5 offered although let’s face it…I’m thrilled just that I received the pencil! All of the other products are little bonuses which I love too ๐Ÿ™‚ For $12 a month I think that BB5 would be a great box for those of you who want to dip your toes into the Beauty Box world and get a good value for your money at the same time.
